Casino Review

In a casino, players gamble on games of chance for real money. These games may include slots, blackjack, roulette, craps, and more. The casinos generate billions of dollars in profits each year. While many people go to casinos for fun, the reality is that a casino can be a dangerous place. It is not uncommon for gambling addiction to develop. Fortunately, there are steps that can be taken to prevent gambling addiction and to help someone who already has an addiction.

Casino features an ensemble cast led by Robert De Niro and Sharon Stone. The latter delivers a stunning performance, and her nuanced portrayal of Ginger contradicts the film’s cliched image of Vegas. While her character does a good job of seducing men, she also shows an ability to be compassionate and supportive. It is a complicated portrait, and one that makes her even more compelling than she was in Basic Instinct and The Godfather Part II.

This film has a lot of moving parts, but Scorsese is in control at all times. He is masterful at the use of editing and narration to keep the movie taut, and he creates a sense of mystery throughout the film. His camera work is also superb, and although it is not up to the level of his masterpieces like Taxi Driver or Raging Bull, it is still impressive. In addition, he used an expert team to create the movie’s stunning visuals. Northern California’s Matte World specialized in creating latent-image miniature/matte painting hybrid shots for stylized productions, and they brought that expertise to Casino.
